Recent research has shown that home improvements make money wherever you are but the amount can vary based on location. A typical example used looked like this..
A three bed semi prior to undertaking the work would cost £165,000 in Bristol or Birmingham, £180,000 in Newcastle and £245,000 in Manchester.
After completing a loft conversion and garage the values see an increase of £60,000 in Bristol, Birmingham and Newcastle and £90,000 in Manchester.
Meanwhile, in London the same three bed semi would cost £315,000 before the work but show an increase in value of a whopping £150,000.
