Quick Tip of the Week
Posted Jun 13, 2006
Over time, detergent, mildew and limescale can build up on the inside of your washing machine. Prolong the life of the machine by washing the inside - run the machine empty on it's hottest cycle with a cupful or two of either bleach (not the sticky toilet kind - just straight unscented bleach) or vinegar, then again with nothing to make sure it's clean. Then remove the detergent tray, and clean it with bleach and cotton buds. You should also clean the area the tray sits in, as you can get build-up here as well.
