If you are laying your own carpet, remember this valuable tip to save yourself frustration at the end. At the edges where your carpet will meet the walls, make sure you let it overlap and resist the temptation to press it neatly against the skirting. This way you can trim it at the end and you’ve some “give” if you have to move the carpet at all. Better prepared than sorry!
