Quick Tip of the Week

Posted Dec 22, 2007

Rabbits are not generally seen as a good sign for any gardener. Their manure, however, is absolute gold. Twice as nutrient-rich as chicken manure and four times more than cow or horse manure, rabbit manure is one of the best natural fertilisers available. Consider raising several of these to use their droppings as topsoil on your lawn or garden, or simply to add to a compost heap to give it a nutrient-boost. Rabbits are cleaner, quieter, and simpler to care for than other animals, and, if you can part with your new pets, a culinary delicacy.
