Quick Tip of the Week

Every household needs basic first aid equipment, and an ice pack is an integral part of that kit. Wrapping ice cubes or a plastic pack in a cloth may get the job done, but the professionals use gel packs when they need a soothing ice pack. Making your own soft ice pack is as simple as two basic ingredients: water and rubbing alcohol. Mix these two liquids in a resealable plastic bag and place in the freezer. The rubbing alcohol will prevent the water from freezing, creating a soft slush that is perfect for bumps and bruises.
