Original Croft

A former crofthouse, long since derelict and in need of some TLC…and a lot of hard work, this just had to be restored. The original stone was reclaimed and with intricate detailing and photographic record we set out to recreate this home. The original house was restored incorporating all the comforts of modern living, in terms of build quality, insulation, additional space and height. This is a truly unique property which aimed to provide all the charm of living in a traditional croft but without the downside of sizing, pitch, damp issues etc. With everything hand crafted and an acute attention to detail including the horns & bars on the windows to the double chimney and much much more, this will take some beating. Indeed nothing like it exists in the region….yet! If you look carefully, you can see the footprint of the original croft which forms the main body of the house with the wings carefully blended to give the extra space.

The garden was in the living room!!

Totally derelict and waterlogged with grass growing through the floors inside the house, this wooden construction still had much to offer. With stunning views from every aspect and the mechanics of a revolving summerhouse still deeply embedded in the hill, this presented an enormous challenge as cosyhomes’ first rescue mission.

Banking on it

This High Street bank had been empty for some time and fallen into disrepair to say the least. With the upper floors gone, the way was open to totally restructure. Being in an area in need of housing and conveniently close to town for new young businesses this property was ideally placed to be a great project whilst going a little way to fulfilling the social need of an area close to my heart! Together with its sister property, this transformed into 6 flats and 3 commercial premises whilst taking another run down empty property off the local landscape.
